Accounting Clerk

About the Role

This role demands an organized individual who has a passion for finance and administration. This role will be responsible for the maintenance of financial data and assisting in financial reporting in alignment with the GAAP. This position will require some knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic accounting principles. Ability to communicate in English and Spanish a plus.

  • You can utilize excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks accurately and effectively.
  • You have basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • You have strong problem-solving skills.
  • You can remain calm and respectful in stressful or challenging situations.
  • You have a Valid Class “C” Texas Driver’s license or equivalent from another state.
  • You have reliable transportation.
  • You have a High School Diploma/GED or higher.

Essential Duties:

  • Attend work as scheduled in accordance with the needs of the position.
  • Enter data for invoices / accounts receivable and document accounts paid.
  • Make deposits into accounts as assigned.
  • Research accounting discrepancies.
  • Track outstanding accounts.
  • Assist in cross-checking payroll reports, as needed.
  • Assist in the maintenance of financial databases.
  • Assist in financial reporting and preparing financial statements.
  • Assist in managing budgets and forecasting.
  • Actively practice OSHA and La Nube’s health and safety protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands/Occupational Hazards

This position is highly active. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Observe and react to the needs of guests, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Move throughout the museum.
  • Manipulate, lift and/or move materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Occasional bending/stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Frequent sedentary work; sitting for extended periods of time and prolonged exposure to computer lighting.
  • Occasional walking on uneven surfaces.
